Student Health for Dummies

Apr. 26, 2014—This semester I have been sick and injured so often that I feel as if student health has become my home away from Cole. However, that means I have learned a great deal about Vanderbilt's medical care for students to share with y'all...

Vandy Arts!

Mar. 31, 2014—This semester has been an awesome example of how Vanderbilt keeps its students in touch with up-to-date professionals in their field, particularly in the arts! Everyone knows about Vanderbilt's contributions to football and academics, but hardly anyone knows about its awesome theatre department! This year they brought in many new features that I have been able to work with, and I wanted to share some of those stories with y'all!

Campus Events!

Feb. 16, 2014—When I was a freshman, I loved going to the events that Vanderbilt sponsored. As an upperclassman, I have less time to go to these because I'm busier, working, and have greater access to off campus events. That means that I enjoy them all the more, though! Last weekend, I got to go to two such events--Casino night sponsored by the Vanderbilt Programming Board, and movie of the month from the Student Government...

Feb. 4, 2014—This past few weeks I have been terribly sick--sore throat, coughing up mucus, and all that gross stuff. But my Godsend has definitely been one of the newer restaurants on our meal plan--Bamboo! The workers there are so sweet, and their food is delicious..

Books Galore!

Jan. 9, 2014—One of the biggest struggles at the beginning of each semester is getting all of your new textbooks. This process is expensive, time-consuming, and difficult, especially if you don't know exactly which classes you are going to keep. You definitely don't want to buy them too early or too late. Teaching at Peabody

Dec. 9, 2013—I have recently realized just how little I knew about what it took to become a teacher before I came to Vanderbilt. I did not know anything about the steps that were taken, and the different nuances you could receive in your degree. I had never had anyone spell it out for me, so I wanted to give all potential future Peabody-attendees a summary of what to look forward to in the upcoming years...

A Rare Gem

Dec. 9, 2013—When I first came to Vanderbilt, I participated in Visions, as every freshman does. One of our meetings involved going to Vanderbilt's Psychological Counseling Center (PCC) to see what they had to offer. I did not give much value to the trip because I considered it almost inferior to go ask for help. It was not until recently that I realized just how valuable the resources there are--and how wonderful it is that Vanderbilt provided them for free...

The Highlight of my Week

Dec. 9, 2013—I am a junior with only 8 meals per week to her name. So some might ask: why do you spend 2-3 meals per week on coffee at Last Drop? While I do love coffee an inordinate amount, that is not the reason. The real reason I spend an entire meal on a cup of coffee, bagel, and muffin, is because my time there is the highlight of my week...
