‘Blair School of Music’

On Fall Break

Oct. 15, 2017—Fall break holds a special place in my heart. It’s a comma in the middle of a sentence – a pause before the next movement of a symphony. A chance to take a breath, reset, and gain some perspective. Junior year has been, unsurprisingly, pretty hectic. I’d spent the summer down in Charlotte for my...

Standing on the Cumberland Bridge (Status of College: 25% Completed!)

May. 11, 2016—The last night before I left, Carolyn and I took a bus into Nashville and walked along the pedestrian bridge (it’s beautiful!) Learning My ABCs: American Sign Language

Jan. 22, 2015—Every Tuesday and Thursday morning, I hug a pole. Not just because I love poles, but I also lock my bike around that pole before heading up to the eighth floor of the Bill Wilkerson Center.  Friends, if you are going to take a language here at Vandy, take American Sign Language. ASL has probably...

#MeloLove

Jan. 16, 2015—Back home in India, we did have several musical groups in my high school who performed during school events and annual productions. Yet, music was never truly an intrinsic part of my high school. Music at Vanderbilt is an entirely different story and the Vanderbilt Melodores have a major contribution to our unique campus culture....
