Sigma Phi Lambda!

Dec. 1, 2013—So I found this outdated post today, and realized that I never shared it with everyone! Since the information is particularly relevant as students will think about rushing next semester, I wanted to share it regardless! Hope you enjoy my ramblings about joining a Christian sorority!

Athenian Sing for Family Weekend!

Oct. 7, 2013—When I first came to Vanderbilt, family weekend was in September. Since I had never been away from my mom for more than three weeks, that was perfect! My favorite part of the weekend was the Athenian Sing, when I got to see the great performing arts groups on campus compete to raise money for different charities. After that night, I wanted to be involved in the Athenian Sing however I could. So, last year when I found out I could apply to be in the Athenian Honor Society and thereby help plan the event, I was psyched!

Chaos!!!!

Sep. 17, 2013—The beginning of this semester has been so chaotic that I haven't even had the time to write my first blog until almost a month after the semester started! I love beginning a new year because it means seeing old friends again, starting to acquire new knowledge, and taking on new projects. This semester in particular I have been revamping my life a little bit and am embarking on several new uses for my time...

It’s a Small World After All

Jul. 26, 2013—This summer I was lucky enough to go on vacation with my sister Jackie, in honor of her graduation. We went to Ios, Greece and had an awesome time! I hate the actual act of traveling, but I love visiting other places. I love experiencing the culture, eating the food, meeting new people, and making fun memories. After the trip, I thought about how enriching it was to travel somewhere else and grow as a person. These feeling reminded me of the excitement other students described when they studied abroad. The world is an enormous place, and Vanderbilt makes it possible for its students to experience nearly every facet of it...

4th of July in Switzerland!

Jul. 5, 2013—First of all, I want to wish you all a Happy Independence Day! I was not able to be state-side for the celebration, but my activities yesterday made me realize just how patriotic I can be, and how that patriotism can be applied to your choice of university, as well...

Concerts, concerts, and more concerts!

Jun. 15, 2013—I don’t know about you, but I absolutely adore concerts! I think there’s something so special about seeing a band you love up-close-and-personal. You can hear their voices without autotune, rock out to their percussion tracks, and just soak up the atmosphere of being pressed up against so many other hardcore fans. This past weekend I had the chance to go to a music festival in Geneva called Caribana. Going there made me realize just how much Nashville has to offer in terms of music, and made me excited for planning this upcoming year of concerts...

Final Thoughts on Leaving School

Apr. 27, 2013—Undoubtedly the most stressful element of leaving school at the end of the semester is finishing up your exams, projects, and papers. But there are other obligations that also cannot be ignored. For example, all of the different groups have senior send-offs and banquets that you must attend...
