An Artistic Weekend on Campus

Feb. 20, 2019—My French professor often starts the class by a question, “Qu’avez vous fait ce weekend?” (What did you do this weekend?) This time, I will answer, “I had an artistic weekend on campus.” Friday, February 15: a movie I spent the late afternoon on watching Thermae Romae, a Japanese film, at Furman Hall. Two Japanese...

Vandy Arts!

Mar. 31, 2014—This semester has been an awesome example of how Vanderbilt keeps its students in touch with up-to-date professionals in their field, particularly in the arts! Everyone knows about Vanderbilt's contributions to football and academics, but hardly anyone knows about its awesome theatre department! This year they brought in many new features that I have been able to work with, and I wanted to share some of those stories with y'all!

Athenian Sing for Family Weekend!

Oct. 7, 2013—When I first came to Vanderbilt, family weekend was in September. Since I had never been away from my mom for more than three weeks, that was perfect! Sure, I had my share of elementary school Christmas plays and summer camp skits, but acting never grabbed me. What grabbed me was...

How to Get Involved

Apr. 13, 2013—This weekend I’ve been realizing just how easy it is to get involved on campus and how much fun it is to interact with people who are not from your stereotypical social circle. This was brought to my attention when I started working as the house manager for the Original Cast's show Until Dawn: A Musical About War...

It’s beginning to look a lot like the end of the semester…

Apr. 6, 2013—As a semester draws to a close, all of the performing groups on campus start strutting their stuff. Each spare moment starts to be packed with supporting other members of VPAC, and I would not have it any other way! This weekend I got to see VOB’s production of Spring Awakening and VUT’s W;t...

Cabaret!

Mar. 2, 2013—This past week has been a crazy mess of midterms, lack of sleep, and caffeine. That’s why my roommates and I decided to end it on a glorious note. Tomorrow I’m driving them to the airport at 6am, but tonight we went to go see Tennessee Reparatory Theatre’s production of Cabaret...
