Favorite Off Campus Study Breaks
Dec. 1, 2016—With my second fall semester winding down, I should be studying for finals, but all I can think about is Christmas Break! I’ve only been back from Thanksgiving for a week, and I’m already overwhelmed by the end of semester assignments and finals prep. Some days, the best thing for my sanity is to take...
The End… For Now
Dec. 14, 2015—Reflecting on my third Vanderbilt semester... and being halfway finished with my sophomore year.
Minute-to-Win-It Madness
Dec. 12, 2014—Finally, a finale to Finals! What better way to celebrate the conquering of the last tests and papers than with an insanely fun night of “Minute to Win It: Christmas Edition.” You, too, can be fun and win the games! B. and I made a quick Walmart run to pick up all of the necessary...
Christmas Tea Time Photo Journal
Dec. 12, 2014—. . . . . . . . In my last post I talked about Tea Time, a gathering of students that come together to enjoyeach others’ company, some tea, and sweets every Tuesday night at 10 pm. To understand more about it you should read my last blog post. Here are some pictures from...
Performing at the Ryman
Dec. 19, 2013—My friend E. had sent me an email asking me whether I was still in Nashville on December 11-12, and due to Finals, I replied with a yes. She then asked me whether I would be interested in playing a show. Of course! I can't believe that my first ever non-classical music performance was for Andrew Peterson's show "Behold the Lamb of God"!
Why I Love Finals
Dec. 15, 2013—While finals may be the most stressful time of the semester in some respects, it is also one of my favorite times of the semester. No, I'm not insane--I don't relish the time I spend panicking about looming exams and papers, but it's nice because all meetings and classes have ceased, and you have time to just focus on studying--and more often than not, there's a little bit of extra time left over to do fun things with your friends.
Silent Light
Dec. 9, 2013—Actually, it really wasn't silent at all. And that was a far-fetched play on words. So really, the title is pretty silly. Oh well. This blog post is about lovely lights. The Gaylord Opryland Resort puts up the most elaborate, festive lights every winter, and these twinklings made my friends and I pretty jolly.
My First American Thanksgiving
Dec. 8, 2013—I’ve had the privilege of experiencing quite a large number of American things over the past year and four months. One notable thing I didn’t get the chance to do last year, however, was celebrate an authentic American Thanksgiving. I had spent Thanksgiving break with a friend from back home, and the true spirit of...
I miss the rains down in Africa
Jan. 7, 2013—A few notes about my Christmas break in Zimbabwe
Winter Break Travels
Jan. 4, 2013—I cannot believe that winter break is almost over and I am less than a week away from the start of classes. It seems like this break in particular has flown by. I spent the first week eating mass amounts of ice cream while watching lots of TV show marathons because I got my wisdom teeth removed. And this past week I spent in New York City with my family!
