Why I Love Finals

Posted by on Sunday, December 15, 2013 in College Life, Exams, General Information.

While finals may be the most stressful time of the semester in some respects, it is also one of my favorite times of the semester.  No, I’m not insane–I don’t relish the time I spend panicking about looming exams and papers, but it’s nice because all meetings and classes have ceased, and you have time to just focus on studying–and more often than not, there’s a little bit of extra time left over to do fun things with your friends.  I already told y’all about going to the midnight premiere of the second Hobbit movie, and in this post, I present to you a few of the other fun things I did this past week.

Christmas Movie Night: Last year, my friends Jessica, Lindsey, and I watched a cheesy ABC Family Christmas movie–Snow.  This year, we decided that it was only appropriate that we watch Snow 2 to kick off our holiday festivities this year.  One thing led to another, and we followed Snow 2 up with a viewing of Extreme Christmas Trees and another ABC Family movie–12 Dates of Christmas.  While these movies are maybe not the best, we enjoy their cheesiness and it really put us in the holiday spirit!

GNO: (and by Girls’ Night Out, I mean a suite dinner at Chuy’s.) Victoria, Shilpa, Alice, and I met up at Chuy’s (a restaurant that is conveniently a part of the Taste of Nashville program) on Thursday night to celebrate the end of finals.  Alice still had one more to go, but took a study break to join us for dinner and 4/6 suite bonding.

Jamba Juice: JAMBA JUICE OPENED IN NASHVILLE. This was for sure a highlight of my week, as the smoothie chain did not exist nearby prior to this, and it is one of my favorite California treats (although it does exist other places as well).  I may or may not have gone twice within 24 hours.

Victoria and I with our delightful smoothies!

These were just a few of the things that I managed to squeeze into my busy finals schedule, but all of them were most definitely worth any studying that got postponed for just a little bit. ;)
