It’s a Small World After All
Jul. 26, 2013—This summer I was lucky enough to go on vacation with my sister Jackie, in honor of her graduation. We went to Ios, Greece and had an awesome time! I hate the actual act of traveling, but I love visiting other places. I love experiencing the culture, eating the food, meeting new people, and making fun memories. After the trip, I thought about how enriching it was to travel somewhere else and grow as a person. These feeling reminded me of the excitement other students described when they studied abroad. The world is an enormous place, and Vanderbilt makes it possible for its students to experience nearly every facet of it...
Nashville : Brevard
Jul. 25, 2013—Remember back when your older siblings took the old SATs and they had that section on analogies? Well, I learned some from them, and here it is: Nashville is quite similar to Brevard. To be even more specific, Hillsboro Village : Downtown Brevard.
Restaurant Recon
Jul. 23, 2013—Once a week, the student workers in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions go to dinner together, in an effort to get out and explore the food side of Nashville. Each week we pick a different local Nashville restaurant, and in this post, I present to you--in no particular order--a list of my top 3 favorites so far!
Friday Night Lights
Jul. 23, 2013—If you ever get the chance to check out Cheekwood Botanical Gardens here in Nashville, I definitely recommend it. It's an oasis in the midst of a city with beautiful gardens, green spaces, and fountains that's wonderful to explore on a sunny day.
Race to the Top
Jul. 23, 2013—Apart from Vanderbilt being located in the invigorating city of Nashville, it is also located in the great state of Tennessee. This great state is filled with plenty to do as long as you look around and are willing to go out of your comfort zone. This past weekend, two of my friends and I...
The Waiting Game
Jul. 19, 2013—The waiting game is my least favorite game. But, sometimes, it is a game I am forced to play. This time around, I am waiting for secondary applications from medical schools. After I receive and submit those, my work will be subject to another round of screening before I hopefully receive invitations to interview. Here, I share with you how I have been passing the time.
The Fourth of July
Jul. 17, 2013—This post is long overdue, but for the 4th of July, I spent the entire day with my little, Megan, and her family exploring Nashville!
Summer Celebrations!
Jul. 17, 2013—Last Tuesday was the day after my dear friend Rachel-Chloe's birthday. Since her family was in town for the actual day, Caitlyn and I decided to throw a birthday bash for RC the day after--and we were sure to do it in style.
When Your Mom Visits (Version 2, Part 2)
Jul. 14, 2013—The fun continues! Here are five more places my mom and I explored: 6. Nashville Farmer’s Market–The Nashville Farmer’s market is open every day, and has a variety of vendors who sell produce, crafts, and more! There was also an international market and a food court where everything smelled positively delicious. 7. Monell’s–Go read Caitlyn’s...
