Reminiscing about ASBreak
Mar. 28, 2013—This is a little overdue, but I promised I would write about my spring break experience! I was a little nervous before the trip as I was taking on a new role in the program as a site leader. However, I’m happy to say that my ASB experience this year was just as enjoyable as last year.
#vu2017
Mar. 28, 2013—The excitement is tangible, dear readers, as acceptance letters have gone out to regular decision applicants this past Monday. You might think this doesn't affect the general population here at Vanderbilt or that we current students are long past the world of admissions and don't keep up with the news--but oh how wrong you'd be!
Vanderbilt: Under Construction
Mar. 28, 2013—Do you see the cranes and construction hats? Vanderbilt's renovations will feature a new living experience and...a bowling alley!
Breathe!
Mar. 27, 2013—Yesterday I was fortunate enough to participate in Breathe--Sigma Phi Lambda's night of prayer and praise. Victory has been invited to perform there since I was a freshman, mostly because we share several members. However, last night's event was so much more extensive than any night of prayer and praise I have ever attended. It was a campus-wide inter-denomination praise event, and I think it really encapsulated the interfaith (or in this case, interdenominational) nature of Vanderbilt's campus...
Project Opportunity
Mar. 27, 2013—For my Developmental Disabilities class this semester, our final project requires us to participate in a Vanderbilt disability organization, program, service, or clinic on campus for at least four hours, and then share our observations with the class during a final presentation.
Why Vanderbilt?
Mar. 26, 2013—As regular decision letters were mailed yesterday, I am sure that this is the question on so many young minds (and on the minds of a few older parents as well). Though I can't answer this question for you, I can give you a little bit of insight into my own personal answer.
Birthdays!
Mar. 24, 2013—The past two weeks have been a whirlwind. Between getting back from Spring Break, tests and papers and spring fever, I have hardly had a minute to breathe. It just so happens that on top of all of this, THREE of my very best friends also celebrated their birthdays in this short span. Birthdays are the perfect excuse to plan fun activities and take much-needed study breaks. My friends did just that.
Whole Foods Cooking Class
Mar. 24, 2013—Yesterday, I took my third cooking class at the Salud Cooking School at the Whole Foods in Green Hills. This time, though, I got to plan the event through CityVU. So, this time, I can not only tell you about my cooking experience, but also about the planning that went into it!
So What is Biomedical Engineering..?
Mar. 24, 2013—I first discovered my major, biomedical engineering, my freshman year of high school when flipping through a book of possible careers. Six years later I am still learning each day more about this major that I've chosen as it covers such a wide array of careers. While BME is quite challenging (it is thought to be the hardest major on campus), it is very rewarding.
