The 5 Reasons You Don’t Really Need a Car at Vandy
Aug. 26, 2013—The fall semester of 2013 means lots of "firsts" for me: my first job on campus, my first time living in a 4-person suite, and my first time bringing the good ol' Orland mini-van to campus. While having access to non-bus and non-cab transportation has been a luxury, having a car at Vandy is definitely something I could comfortably live without. The "swagger wagon", if you will, is a nice-to-have, but not a must-have.
A Suite Sweaty Saturday
Aug. 25, 2013—While I will admit I was longing for the higher temperatures of the south while in Chicago, that desire is long gone. For the first Saturday, my suite and some friends decided to go on an early morning hike to avoid the heat. Aug. 21, 2013—As a cellist at Blair, I get geekily giddy about the Nashville Symphony’s upcoming concert season. As a poor college student, I am sorely short in trying the funds to buy tickets. A huge “however” is in order though, because the Nashville Symphony has a program called SoundCheck for classical music loving students like me and you to be able to soak in some fantastic orchestral performances and bask in all the grandeur of the Schermerhorn Hall!
