Fall Fun Recap
Dec. 6, 2013—Fall is my favorite season for so many years. It marks amazing weather (70 and clear skies = ecstatic me), beautiful nature (The trees, people. Flawless), and fall time adventures. As part of this reflective blog post, I want to tell you guys about a few of my favorite fall semester traditions
Apple Crisp Adventures
Nov. 28, 2013—Like many of my fellow Inside 'Dores bloggers, I occasionally like to try my hand at the culinary arts. I, tragically, have not had much time to do so at school this semester so when I came home and heard we were in need of a Thanksgiving dessert, I readily volunteered to make one. The added kicker? One of our guests is gluten-free. Challenge accepted.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Nov. 28, 2013—It's Thanksgiving, and I've just consumed far too much delicious food (my family eats early). Thanksgiving has caused me to be a bit nostalgic and think over the past couple of years, and my time at Vanderbilt is definitely a huge part of what I'm thankful for this year!
Regionals Wrap-up
Nov. 27, 2013—Approximately one month ago, the women’s club soccer team packed up our suitcases and headed to Winston-Salem, North Carolina for the NIRSA Regional tournament. Going to this tournament meant that we’d miss one day of classes, since it started on a Friday. I’ve said it in blog posts before (and I’ll say it again when...
The Break Begins
Nov. 24, 2013—Remember how much I was looking forward to Thanksgiving Break in my last post? Not to say that it's all completely over, but I've taken the past couple of days to wear my polar bear pajama pants and relax.
A Bodacious Break
Nov. 24, 2013—What better way to get back into the swing of blogging than to leave Vanderbilt? I jest, but this one is coming to you from Oak Ridge, TN, as I begin my Thanksgiving break mere miles from the site of yesterday’s football victory over UT, denying UT a bowl game for a second year in...
When Dad Comes to Visit
Oct. 27, 2013—A few weeks ago my dad wanted to see me, so he booked plane tickets to come down to Nashville last weekend! I haven't seen any of my family yet this semester, so I was super excited to see him. We spent the weekend doing the usual family-comes-to-town things: eating out, going to the Vandy game, and shopping.
Home Again
Oct. 14, 2013—I know it seems like just yesterday that my parents were in Nashville to visit my sister and me on Parents Weekend. But time flies, and before we knew it, it was fall break and my sister and I were headed to the Miami Beach Sunshine.
Surprise!
Oct. 9, 2013—This is slightly delayed, but two Fridays ago, I got the biggest surprise of my life: my parents came to visit! Now, for many Vanderbilt students, your parents coming to visit on Family Weekend isn’t really a surprise. But being from California, my parents have never been able to come before. When I found out...
Athenian Sing for Family Weekend!
Oct. 7, 2013—When I first came to Vanderbilt, family weekend was in September. Since I had never been away from my mom for more than three weeks, that was perfect! My favorite part of the weekend was the Athenian Sing, when I got to see the great performing arts groups on campus compete to raise money for different charities. After that night, I wanted to be involved in the Athenian Sing however I could. So, last year when I found out I could apply to be in the Athenian Honor Society and thereby help plan the event, I was psyched!
