‘Vanderbilt’
Bittersweet Goodbyes
Apr. 30, 2013—The tents are out, the chairs are lined up, and the moving trucks have an increasingly large presence on campus. Yup, it’s already time for the end of the semester. Some students are done and long gone as they commence their summer plans. I, however, will be here until the end–I have a final waiting...
Moving Up in the World
Apr. 29, 2013—In three days, I will be closing up my Sophomore year and prepare to take the next step of college: Junior year. A small step up in the scheme of things but a move up nonetheless. Next year will be especially important in that I will be preparing for the actual next big step in...
Move Out
Apr. 29, 2013—Today, I officially checked out of my dorm room. I turned in my key and stored all of my stuff. You could say that my junior year of college is over, but I beg to differ. Although I am leaving Nashville, I have a take-home exam to submit electronically by Wednesday. Therefore, at least until...
Wrapping Things Up
Apr. 25, 2013—In one week, I will be done with Sophomore year and done with half my college career. (assuming I don’t choose to take a victory year). It’s unbelievable how fast this year especially flew up. Only yesterday does it feel like the summer had just ended and I was preparing for my 2nd year at...
Getting Ready for Summer- my trip to student health
Apr. 21, 2013—This summer is going to be one of my most exciting ever! I have three finals this week leave Nashville next Sunday (just SEVEN days from today). Where did the year go?! I will be home for about a week and a half before my first summer adventure begins. On May 11th, I will be traveling to Solola, Guatemala to serve as a program intern with Manna Project International.
Scenic Nashville
Apr. 15, 2013—This weekend, the weather in Nashville was beautiful! I took advantage and did some sight-seeing and hanging out in the great outdoors. Here are some of the highlights: I went for an 8-mile run through downtown Nashville and around LP field. I stopped in Printer’s Alley and on the pedestrian bridge. I also ran down...
Sips n Strokes Comes to Campus
Apr. 15, 2013—Last Thursday night, I got to attend a free painting class courtesy of VPB. The class was held in The Anchor, which is an open space in New Rand where students can paint banners and make posters. Many materials are provided in the Anchor, but this class was special because VPB brought in Sips n Strokes to teach it.
Time is a Fickle Thing
Apr. 12, 2013—It really is. Waiting until you slip into a comfortable pace of undulating routine, it creeps up, unbeknownst to you, and assaults you with all its might, leaving you dazed and confused, so much so that you can’t wonder what has happened, and all you can do is lament the fact that as soon as...
What Will You Be?
Apr. 9, 2013—If you haven’t figured it out, I already love the future class of 2017. So of course, I couldn’t resist following in the footsteps of fellow bloggers Nathan and Ryan. Reflecting on my Vanderbilt experience and trying to sum it up in a few words is always difficult, but here’s what stands out: You will...
What Will You Be?
Apr. 7, 2013—Today, I provide you with part 3 of the series inspired by Nathan. I suppose I should start in the same way as the other two. Congratulations to the admitted students of the Class of 2017. You guys are so talented and amazing. I am sure that you have heard this millions of times, but I would have NEVER gotten in if I had applied this year. I hope that you choose to attend Vanderbilt. I absolutely could not imagine myself anywhere else. And so now I ask you, what will you be?
