‘choosing Vanderbilt’
Fall Fun Recap
Dec. 6, 2013—Fall is my favorite season for so many years. It marks amazing weather (70 and clear skies = ecstatic me), beautiful nature (The trees, people. Flawless), and fall time adventures. As part of this reflective blog post, I want to tell you guys about a few of my favorite fall semester traditions
Vanderbilt beats Wake Forest
Dec. 1, 2013—It was a nail-biter. My family and I were on the edge of our seats. The Dores were down for quite a while, but Carey Spear sealed the deal with a beautiful 38-yard field goal and the seniors went out on top.
Why I am Thankful for VU
Nov. 30, 2013—Although I spend Thanksgiving with my family in Miami Beach each year, I always take some time to reflect on all of the amazing opportunities which I have been afforded over the past three and a half years at Vanderbilt. First, I would like to thank Vanderbilt for renovating Alumni Hall. Now, I can get...
Why Vanderbilt?
Nov. 29, 2013—I perfectly remember this time of year last year. It was November and I was almost ready to submit my college applications, but was I really? In fact, I didn’t submit Anything until 3 hours before the deadline, which was stupid, I know, but I needed all the time I could have to revise and...
Happy Thanksgiving!
Nov. 28, 2013—It's Thanksgiving, and I've just consumed far too much delicious food (my family eats early). Thanksgiving has caused me to be a bit nostalgic and think over the past couple of years, and my time at Vanderbilt is definitely a huge part of what I'm thankful for this year!
Winter is Coming!
Nov. 10, 2013—This popular slogan often associated with Game of Thrones was turned into the title of an awesome VPB event that took place this past Friday night! The event was hosted by VenUe, which is the late-night alternative program committee. They converted the Student Life Center into a winter carnival.
The Cradle Will Rock- VUT’s Production
Nov. 8, 2013—I really really like Vanderbilt University Theater. I only started going to their productions last year, and I regret not going sooner. Vanderbilt students are so talented and creative! Also, the all VUT productions are FREE for Vanderbilt undergraduates. That was all the convincing I needed. Last night, I attending The Cradle Will Rock with a friend from class. It is a depression-era musical and I enjoyed it.
Church Service for Class
Nov. 8, 2013—This past Wednesday night, I attended Reform University Fellowship (RUF). I know what you're thinking. First, why would I need to attend a church service for class? And second, aren't you Jewish? I am, and that is precisely why I decided to attend a campus ministry worship service.
Passport to Nashville- Country Music Hall of Fame
Nov. 5, 2013—Since the 47th Annual Country Music Association (CMA) Awards are tomorrow, our campus is buzzing with student who are desperate to get into the show. A lot of my friends have found opportunities through Vanderbilt to volunteer at the show, and others have won free tickets from CityVU. I, sadly, will not be attending the show in any capacity. Instead, I visited the Country Music Hall of Fame through the Passport to Nashville program.
Memorial 4. We rock!
Nov. 5, 2013—The concept of living and learning on Commons as first year students is real. Yes it works. Throw a bunch of ambitious men and women in a house together and watch how they grow, learn and have fun. Living on Memorial 4, I’ve been a part of so many things that I thought were bigger...
