A WilSkills-Wonderful Weekend
Feb. 10, 2014—This weekend, I had yet another WilSkills adventure. In a group of eleven, I backpacked the Spence-Russell Loop and part of the AT to Mollie's Field Shelter, a fifteen-mile round-trip. We hiked through rushing mountain streams, through frozen snow and through low clouds. We gave each other nicknames and threw snowballs.
Wilderness Skills 101: Backpacking
Feb. 2, 2014—This past weekend I joined nine other Vanderbilt students for a romp in the North Carolina woods. In short, we drove to Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, hiked Saturday and Sunday morning, and then returned in time for the Super Bowl/homework.
School’s Out!
Jan. 7, 2014—Can you believe it? Neither could we: Vanderbilt cancelled classes yesterday!

Dec. 14, 2013—As Erica blogged about, Vanderbilt recently introduced a really cool program called Passport to Nashville. Upon its release, some friends and I (including fellow blogger Samantha) decided to go check out the Hermitage on an absolutely beautiful fall day.

Dec. 10, 2013—After five hours spent in the library working on a research paper, I emerged into the night with my spirits low and in desperate need of caffeine to get me through the next ten pages. I was met by a beautiful sight: snow. And lots of it!

As part of this reflective blog post, I want to tell you guys about a few of my favorite fall semester traditions

I'm calling it now: treeking started here. If you were wondering about the etymology of "treeking," the words "tree" and "freaking" were combined one day in the fall at Vanderbilt to describe the state of a particular student. So treeking is exactly that: freaking out about trees.
A Lecture at the Parthenon
Oct. 30, 2013—I recently attended a lecture at the Nashville Parthenon and it has reminded me just how lucky I am to live in a city so dedicated to celebrating history and art. How many people can study for their Greek art history exam by walking in the park?!
Reasons I am Excited for Fall
Sep. 17, 2013—In light of the recent media buzz surrounding the coming of fall (most clearly marked by the pumpkin spice latte coming back), I figured I’d share some of the reasons why I personally am excited for fall here at Vanderbilt. After all, being from Florida, this is really only the fourth year I’ve lived in...
