Final Projects

Mar. 26, 2012—For better or for worse, there are a lot of indicators that I’m becoming an upperclassman (see Figure 1). I have a lot of (sometimes unwanted) responsibilities in ROTC, I’m finding myself considering leadership in multiple school organizations, and my schoolwork is maturing from problem sets to more design and analysis-based projects.

Life Without a Laptop

Mar. 25, 2012—For the past few months or so, my laptop had trouble connecting to the internet, but I could usually get it to work by restarting it a few times. Last Sunday afternoon though, it randomly decided it didn’t have the hardware for Wi-Fi anymore, and the Apple store recommended I drop it off there.

ASB “Hangin’ Around” in Kyle, South Dakota and Area

Mar. 23, 2012—*Co-authored by Samantha Orland* For Alternative Spring Break this year, we went to Kyle, South Dakota to live on the Pine Ridge reservation of the Lakota Sioux and to assist in a local elementary school. The 26.5 hour car ride definitely led to ASBonding, and the service made us feel like we could make a difference, even for just a week, in the lives of the children on the reservation.
