Feb. 20, 2014—In preparation for this summer's OACS Global Service project in South Africa, our group met for the first seminar.
Winternship
Jan. 29, 2014—Winternship is not the summation of win and internship, but rather WINTER and internship. Winter in Chicago is not for the faint of heart, and they really weren’t kidding when they nicknamed this place the Windy City. The big question I have been getting recently is, “Why, again, did you decide to move to Chicago during the coldest season of the year?” They smirk. I stare at them blankly. I DON’T KNOW.
I’m going to South Africa!
Jan. 17, 2014—I'm so excited about my trip to South Africa this summer. The trip is sponsored by the Office of Active Citizenship and Service. Throughout the semester I'll learn about South Africa and service, and then for the month of June I'll be living and working in Port Elizabeth!
Transitions
Dec. 10, 2013—Next semester I get the scary-cool opportunity to take a break from Vanderbilt's campus and intern in the campus recruiting department for Deloitte in Chicago. This will serve as my HOD internship, a requirement for my degree program that sort of acts as a capstone project.
How to Get an Internship
Nov. 19, 2013—Internships. Resumes. Cover letters. Networking. And everything in between.
Painting Nashville Red
Sep. 20, 2013—Taylor Swift's much anticipated RED concert ends in Nashville...where it all started.
Soaking up the Sunshine…
Sep. 16, 2013—Nashville is squeezing every last degree of summer warmth for outdoor recreational purposes. Here's to giggling at the Marx brothers, thanks to Belcourt Theatre's outdoor feature, and chomping on kettle corn with the fairies--and almost choking on it from laughing so hard--at Shakespeare in the Park's production of Midsummer Night's Dream!
Nashvegas meets Professional Bull Riding
Sep. 8, 2013—Rodeos are pretty cool...if I must say so myself
The First Five Things I’ll Do At Vandy
Aug. 20, 2013—I’m very excited to head back to school after making many fun memories over summer vacation. I even wrote a blog post about the five things I needed/wanted to do before leaving home since as Dorothy says: “there’s no place like home”. ;) In the same vein, I wanted to write a blog about the first five things I’m going to do upon my return to Nashville..
