Vanderbilt Conquers the Knight
Oct. 23, 2011—This week was Homecoming Week. Here, homecoming is a big deal. The week is full of activities both for current students and for alumni. All of the activities, including an outdoor concert with free local food and the many reunion events, lead up to a huge parade of student organizations and the big football game.
The Dating Doctor
Oct. 18, 2011—America’s real-life Hitch, David Coleman, visited Vanderbilt for the second time this calendar year. He spoke about relationships, romance and life to about 200 students tonight.
Full Moon Pickin’ Party
Oct. 16, 2011—This past Friday night, in celebration of the last full moon before Daylight Savings, I went to a Full Moon Pickin’ Party and dinner at The Loveless Cafe. The event is at the Equestrian Barn, which is part of the Warner Park system.
Flu-la-palooza
Oct. 13, 2011—Yesterday, Vanderbilt University attempted to break a world record, by administering the most flu shots in a day. Flu-la-palooza smashed the previous record, so be sure to look for us in next year’s Guinness Book of World Records.
Cooking Class at Whole Foods
Oct. 1, 2011—Today, CityVU offered three private cooking classes taught by the Whole Foods Salud! cooking school. 462 people applied and 30 lucky winners were selected to attend the class with a guest. I didn’t win, but my friend Kristen did, and she brought me along!
Farm to Fork!
Sep. 28, 2011—Last night, I had the best meal ever of the year at the second annual Farm to Fork Dinner, which was held on Peabody Lawn. This event celebrated local Nashville farmers and Vanderbilt’s effort to support small businesses in the dining industry. It was awesome!

Free Pizza for Everyone!
Sep. 23, 2011—I am currently sitting on a couch outside of Rand anxiously awaiting free pizza. At 12 noon, CityVU is hosting the Nashville Pizza Challenge. This event, held once a year, is a chance for Vanderbilt students to decide which pizza is the best in Nashville.
Family Weekend and Another Football WIN
Sep. 17, 2011—In case you haven’t heard, Vanderbilt football won again! They tore the Old Miss Runnin’ Rebels apart, and won by score of 30 to 7. The Runnin’ Rebels’ only points came with under three minutes left to play. And oh yeah, it’s Family Weekend!
