The Final 100 Days
Jan. 31, 2014—Well, just like that, January is just about over, and, today marks only 100 days left until graduation. I am in denial, and I would say that most of my friends are right there with me. In honor (mourning) of this special day, the Senior Class Fund, held an entire week of festivities, culminating in...
Getting Home
Dec. 14, 2013—One thing I’ve learned in my four years of traveling back home from Nashville to Naples is that Southwest creates some weird flight patterns. Fourteen hours is quite the drive though, and since I don’t have a car, flying is generally the best option. There’s no direct flights to the airport closest to my house,...
The Drive to Miami
Dec. 13, 2013—Yesterday was a pretty long day. My sister and I were up at the crack of dawn to drive from Nashville to Miami. We did it all in one day and it took us just over 13 hours. I picked her up from Commons and we were able to use her breakfast meal to get coffee and muffins for breakfast.
Fall Fun Recap
Dec. 6, 2013—Fall is my favorite season for so many years. It marks amazing weather (70 and clear skies = ecstatic me), beautiful nature (The trees, people. Flawless), and fall time adventures. As part of this reflective blog post, I want to tell you guys about a few of my favorite fall semester traditions
Inside Blair: Shopping for Supplies
Nov. 16, 2013—The winter weather is upon us, and we are fearful for our instruments. Poor Dmitri, his string height keeps getting lower and lower because of this bipolar weather we've been having. Did y'all see the flurries on Monday?
Treeking
Nov. 7, 2013—Are you allowed to come up with new words? I think it's almost legitimate. Do you remember the Tebowing movement, the planking craze, or the milking silliness on YouTube? I'm calling it now: treeking started here. If you were wondering about the etymology of "treeking," the words "tree" and "freaking" were combined one day in the fall at Vanderbilt to describe the state of a particular student. So treeking is exactly that: freaking out about trees.
Just Bein’ Corny
Oct. 28, 2013—This past Saturday, I went to one of the happiest places on Earth...no not Disneyworld, but a corn maze/pumpkin patch called Shuckles!
Soaking up the Sunshine…
Sep. 16, 2013—Nashville is squeezing every last degree of summer warmth for outdoor recreational purposes. Here's to giggling at the Marx brothers, thanks to Belcourt Theatre's outdoor feature, and chomping on kettle corn with the fairies--and almost choking on it from laughing so hard--at Shakespeare in the Park's production of Midsummer Night's Dream!
Friday I’m In Love
Sep. 15, 2013—Who said Friday the 13th is automatically a terrible day? Whoever it was, I have proved them wrong and avoided the supposedly inevitable bad luck.
Half Marathon? Half Crazy. (Part 2)
May. 3, 2013—So we started running. And running. And running. It's been almost a week now, and I'm still somewhat in disbelief that I ran a half marathon in the pouring rain.
