‘choosing Vanderbilt’
I’m Still in Peru, and Loving It!
Jul. 31, 2012—Hello again from Lima! This weekend was my last in Peru, as I return home this Friday night. This weekend, we celebrated Peruvian independence day and a small group of us volunteers decided to travel down to the Peruvian desert oasis called Huacachina.
Pre-Med Professors
Jul. 23, 2012—One of my friends from high school has a little sister coming to Vandy next year so I’ve been sharing my vast wisdom (ha) about classes and professors, primarily pre-med related. Here are a few of my favorites for any curious incoming freshman:
Hola from Peru!
Jul. 20, 2012—Hello hello! I am currently sitting in my room in my new home in Lima, Peru. I am staying with a host family for three weeks, as I volunteer in a medical clinic.
A Day in the Life: Stubbs Lab
Jul. 12, 2012—I’ve blogged in the past about my undergraduate research in a structural biology lab at Vanderbilt and how this summer I’m working full-time as a part of a summer research program called VUSRP, but I’ve never really gotten into the nitty gritty of what I do in lab. Jun. 27, 2012—Check it out! The New York Times featured an article about local food in Nashville, or specifically East Nashville. I know I’ve blogged about the great food around campus…but Nashville has so much more to offer — and now NYT readers around the world know it too!
Summer Send-Off…Already?!
Jun. 26, 2012—Yesterday, I came home to find a post card invitation to the Miami Summer Send-Off Party, which will be held on July 15. Usually the Send-Off Parties are a bit later in the summer, once freshmen have received their housing assignments and just before upperclassmen head back for early move-in. Why, then, is ours so...
Vandy Reunion
Jun. 10, 2012—Just as it is difficult to keep in touch with home friends while at school, it is extremely difficult to keep in touch with school friends while at home. Two of my good friends at school happen to also be from Miami. I actually met them at the Admitted Students Reception in April of our...
