Imma miss you, Vandy.
Dec. 15, 2012—Well folks, I survived the semester. After a stressful morning of last minute packing, goodbyes, and two plane rides, I am finally made it home. As I am sure all of you are well aware of, I am studying abroad next semester at the University of Edinburgh in Edinburgh, Scotland. While I could not be...
White Panda and Class Excursions
Oct. 22, 2012—It seems like no weekend here at Vanderbilt is a boring weekend. And this weekend was no exception. After class on Friday, I spent my afternoon doing what I do best; loafing. I spent a good chunk of my Friday evening in my bed returning emails, calling friends and family, and catching up on my...
Lights on the Lawn
Oct. 11, 2012—Next Friday there won’t be a single fraternity party–something almost unheard of for a Vanderbilt weekend. Instead, the Greek community is coming together to present Lights on the Lawn, a concert series benefiting the recovery effort of one of our own.
Big Easy Express
Jul. 24, 2012—Yesterday evening, some of my friends and I went to the Belcourt Theatre in Hillsboro Village, right next to Vanderbilt, to attend a FREE screening of Big Easy Express, a documentary about a train tour by Mumford & Sons, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes (who played at Rites of Spring two years ago), and...
Rites of Spring 2012
Apr. 24, 2012—This year marks my second year of going to Rites of Spring at Vanderbilt. Even though I didn't know any of the artists coming super well, I love the atmosphere of Rites and the awesome meal plan food options (like The Grilled Cheeserie). Here's a summary of my experience that weekend:
RITES OF SPRING 2012!
Feb. 28, 2012—As the short winter here begins to fade and we start to get some random 75 and sunny days–typical of Nashville in the springtime–students start to anticipate the announcement of the Rites of Spring lineup….And I’m happy to announce that it’s OUT!!
Summer Part I
Jun. 25, 2011—Summer has been great so far. I left Vandy soon after classes ended and returned to my hometown of Auburn, Alabama. It was great to see old friends and share college experiences from our previous semesters at various schools. Overall, it was a very enjoyable and relaxing three weeks at home.
Rites of Spring
Apr. 18, 2011—This past weekend was Rites of Spring. “What is Rites of Spring?” you may ask. Only the biggest, funnest (look it up, it’s in the dictionary now) concert held at Vanderbilt each year. It lasts for two days and features multiple artists of different genres.
Every Story has Two Sides
Mar. 22, 2010—Vanderbilt is a campus of wonders and amazement, but we are a very two-faced campus when it comes to certain things. The weather and music scene are two of the more meaningful and important dichotomies that exist on campus!
Looking Ahead
Mar. 11, 2010—I just got my tickets to the Vanderbilt Rites of Spring festival today. If you haven’t already heard about it, we host a yearly spring festival (In mid-April) featuring the biggest artists in the world. To name a few, we have in this year’s lineup: Drake, Ben Harper and the Relentless 7, Phoenix, Passion Pit,...
