Final Projects
Mar. 26, 2012—For better or for worse, there are a lot of indicators that I’m becoming an upperclassman (see Figure 1). I have a lot of (sometimes unwanted) responsibilities in ROTC, I’m finding myself considering leadership in multiple school organizations, and my schoolwork is maturing from problem sets to more design and analysis-based projects.
IMPACT Symposium
Mar. 25, 2012—IMPACT Symposium, an annual event, is hosted by the Vanderbilt Speakers Committee and brings a variety of incredible speakers to campus. This year, the theme was America's Foreign Policy in the 21st Century.
Basketball Band and the NCAA Women’s Tournament
Mar. 24, 2012—This past Sunday I was invited to cheer on our Lady ‘Dores in the Women’s NCAA Basketball Tournament as a member of the Spirit of Gold Basketball Pep Band.
ASB “Hangin’ Around” in Kyle, South Dakota and Area
Mar. 23, 2012—*Co-authored by Samantha Orland* For Alternative Spring Break this year, we went to Kyle, South Dakota to live on the Pine Ridge reservation of the Lakota Sioux and to assist in a local elementary school. The 26.5 hour car ride definitely led to ASBonding, and the service made us feel like we could make a difference, even for just a week, in the lives of the children on the reservation.

Double ‘Dores: The Perks of Going to the Same College as Your Sibling
Mar. 15, 2012—I was the only student from my high school who came to Vanderbilt this past fall. However, I knew one other person when I arrived to campus. My older brother Ryan is a junior at Vandy. Attending the same college as Ryan has had many advantages, from little perks to having the opportunity to strengthen our relationship.
