How Finals Week 1 Came To Pass
Dec. 18, 2014—Here's what went on with my life from December 5 - 11, 2014 - my first finals week in college.
My “First Love” at Vandy
Dec. 17, 2014—A class on a subject I never really developed a penchant for. On a topic I was always curious about. With the kind of professor you can go share your life's problems with. Talk about explore. This is why you do it. This is why they tell you to try out different classes in college, particularly at Vanderbilt. Because at such an awesome place, more often than not, you are likely to come across a great class. Like I stumbled onto my "first love" at Vandy - English 102W with Professor William Reid Douglass.
Running the Extra Mile
Dec. 17, 2014—There are so many different ways to enjoy a Vanderbilt class. An awesome professor, an engaging subject or topic, inspiring and industrious peers - you name it. Something which can frequently add a lot to what you get out of a class - and is simply often not duly recognized - is an "extra-credit" assignment. The reason why these tasks can get so interesting is because they can be such a contrast to our everyday work in the class.
My First Thanksgiving Dinner!
Dec. 16, 2014—Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday to "thank," or be grateful for, the harvest of the previous year. Thanksgiving is a very North American tradition, and most international students do not know much about it. As for myself, celebrating an American tradition for the first time could not be better than a dinner at the Cones' (Faculty Apartment of Murray House).
2014 – The Year I Got Into Vandy
Dec. 14, 2014—Time to bring the curtains down on 2014. The year of my life perhaps. The year I got into Vanderbilt.
En France, En Français!
Dec. 12, 2014—Vanderbilt has a unique collection of study abroad programs that enables students to extend their Vanderbilt experience to beyond the borders of Nashville, Tennessee and the United States.
Breaking the Ice
Sep. 21, 2014—It is due to people as inspiring as Frank Wcislo, Dean of the Ingram Commons, that the Commodores are the happiest undergraduates in America. This is my journey from Bangladesh to Nashville.
