‘Running’
On Marathons (The Unfun, non-Netflix Kind)
Nov. 27, 2015—Here’s the thing about running a marathon. This might surprise you—it’s a really novel realization—but somewhere around mile 21, I started to realize that marathons are really, really long.
An International Thanksgiving
Nov. 27, 2015—Thanksgiving can be a lonely time for international students all around the country. It’s the time of year where we eat take-out while scrolling through our social media accounts looking at the enticing home-cooked meals our American friends are sharing with their families. Fortunately, thanks to my Faculty Head of House Dr. Cone, and his wife Mrs. Cone, I avoided a Thanksgiving spent in solitude.
Run for the Hills (There Are LOTS of Them)
Oct. 8, 2015—“I can’t tonight, I have a long run tomorrow.” Since this semester started, pretty much everyone I ever hang out with has gotten the above sentence in response to a suggestion to do something fun and exciting and non-sweaty on Friday nights. “Booooo-riiiiing,” they cry. “Do less,” they snort, with an understandable amount of derision at the prospect of me choosing to forgo a party just to wheeze and chafe my way through a three-hour cross-country slog at 7am.

She was struggling to clip in one of the strands of fake, neon-blue hair given to each of the girls, and she did not want to run...
Half Marathon? Half Crazy. (Part 2)
May. 3, 2013—So we started running. And running. And running. It's been almost a week now, and I'm still somewhat in disbelief that I ran a half marathon in the pouring rain.
Half Marathon? Half Crazy. (Part 1)
May. 1, 2013—On Saturday, I set a personal record for the Country Music Half Marathon. I set a PR despite the pouring rain because it was my first half marathon ever!
Race in Review: Part Two
Sep. 24, 2012—As Victoria said in part one of Race in Review, last Saturday we took on Challenge Nation. Going into the race, I was a firm believer of the "just have fun" attitude--my goal was to finish the race, and to have fun doing it.
Race in Review
