Summer Research
May. 6, 2011—This past January, I accepted an undergraduate research position and was recently offered to work over the summer! I will be back at Vanderbilt in early June working in the department of Biological Sciences (BSCI) in Medical Research Building III (MRB III) until early August.
New Bloggers Selected
May. 2, 2011—After an extensive review of applications, the Inside ‘Dores exec board selected eight new bloggers for the 2011-12 academic year. Below you’ll find their self-authored bios. I am incredibly excited to read their work next year! So without further ado… Welcome our newest Inside ‘Dores bloggers!
Finals!
Apr. 27, 2011—It’s that time of year. All college students dread it. As the weather warms, the work load builds, culminating in one week of hell (better known as finals). Although finals are incredibly stressful and intense, Vanderbilt has done some awesome things to ensure that the stress level of the overall student body is kept in...
Mayfield Orientation
Apr. 26, 2011—As I’ve mentioned before, I’m living in a Mayfield next year. We had our Mayfield Orientation tonight, which consisted of ice-breaking, team building, and elections, not to mention delicious catered food.
Easter “Family” Dinner
Apr. 25, 2011—Yesterday was Easter, and because most of us will be leaving Vandy in a week or so, not many people went home for the holiday. That’s not to say we didn’t take a break from studying and spend it with loved ones, though.
Upper Quad Pig Roast
Apr. 24, 2011—Stambaugh House RA Nick Hall is from Memphis, Tennesse. His dad happens to be a professional pig-roaster. To celebrate the end of the year, Nick’s Dad drove down from Memphis with his grill and spent Friday night in his truck cooking a 104-pound pig!
Passover at Vanderbilt
Apr. 21, 2011—Because finals are rapidly approaching (as in, my first one is one week from today), and Passover fell during the week, I was unable to go home to celebrate with my family. I was nervous that my first Passover away from home would be lonely and sad. I was even more afraid that I would...
Rites of Spring
Apr. 18, 2011—This past weekend was Rites of Spring. “What is Rites of Spring?” you may ask. Only the biggest, funnest (look it up, it’s in the dictionary now) concert held at Vanderbilt each year. It lasts for two days and features multiple artists of different genres.
Just Another Vandy Weekend
Apr. 12, 2011—Weekends at Vanderbilt are never short of things to do, and this weekend was no exception. On Friday night, I went with some friends to an ice rink in Franklin to play broomball with a group from Rolling Hills Community Church. I had gone last semester, and it was so much fun, so I was...
American Music Recital
Apr. 11, 2011—As you may have noticed before, I go to a lot of Blair concerts. I’m really not that cultured in the arts, it’s just that my roommate and one of my best friends are in Blair, so I’ve met a bunch of cool people from there or Spirit of Gold (the marching band).
