Alex Rains ’20
Hi everyone! My name is Alex, and I’m currently a senior at Vanderbilt. I am originally from Richmond, Kentucky, studying Neuroscience and Psychology on the pre-med track, and love all things coffee, music, and Nashville.
In terms of my involvements at Vandy, I have the opportunity to see many corners of campus. My greatest involvement is as president of VUcept, which is the organization that orchestrates Visions, our first-year orientation and mentorship program at Vanderbilt. Additionally, I am the Director of Programming for LEAPS (Liaisons Educating and Advocating for Psychological Support), a mental health awareness organization on campus. I am also a Site Leader for Alternative Spring Break and a blogger for Inside ‘Dores. Alongside my organizational commitments, I work a job at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in a Diet and Nutrition Lab, and do neuroscience research with another professor at Vanderbilt.
I absolutely LOVE being a Vanderbilt student, and am happy to help prospective students in any way possible, so please email me at alex.rains@vanderbilt.edu if you have any questions about life as a Vanderbilt student. While I may not have the answers, I am happy to put you in touch with someone who will. Anchor Down!
