Speed Dating
Last Wednesday, I did speed dating…with the sophomores in my sorority! Since sophomores will be paired with new members in a few weeks and become their “Big,” the two classes needed to get to know each other better.
All of the new members sat in a big circle, while the sophomores sat in an even bigger circle around us. We talked to every girl for 1 minute and 10 seconds, so we had time to just barely meet everyone. The New Member Educators for AOII encouraged us to come up with wacky questions to ask the sophomores and put them in the hot seat. I stuck with funny but relatively normal questions like, “Who’s your celebrity crush?” and “What’s your most embarrassing moment?” This lead to amusing conversations involving hoping to run into Jake Gyllenhaal in Nashville, learning the dances from High School Musical, and a discussion of Mark Wahlberg’s best work. Of course, I had to share some embarrassing moments too (believe me, there are plenty), but each conversation went down a different road so it never got repetitive. I loved getting to know more of my sisters in such a funny manner.
