Trying New Things
So the other night, my friends and I decided to try out some new things that we usually wouldn’t take part in and we were pleasantly surprised with our adventures…
The night began with “Shakespeare in the Park” in Centennial Park (home of the famous Parthenon) where a musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s’ Much Ado about Nothing was being performed. Unfortunately, I didn’t really understand much of it since Shakespeare was never really my forte in school. But nonetheless, it was pretty cool to be able to watch a performance like this 5 minutes down the street from my dorm.
Next, we went to the Belcourt Theatre in Hillsboro Village and went to go watch a movie called “Moonrise Kingdom” which was about a boyscout and a young girl who run away from their homes to be together. It had the same feel as the movie “Fantastic Mr Fox” and by the end I was really into the movie.
I didn’t really know what to expect but I have to say that this movie was a lot of fun and it definitely is something worth watching.
After our adventures at Belcourt, we headed over to Cafe Coco which is a small cafe hidden within the streets of Nashville that is open 24/7. It was my first time going there and it was an awesome place. The fact that it was open all night long blew my mind. When we sat down and got some to eat, we were pleasantly surprised to find out they had live music as people would just get up on the stage and play some songs just for the sake of playing. It was a really neat place that I would definitely visit again. Plus, I hear Taylor Swift visits there every now and then. All the more reason to return.
By the time we left Cafe Coco, it was already 2am so it was time to call it a night.I must say that I quite enjoyed my night out. It really showed that there is a lot to do in Nashville if you know where to go and I’m looking forward to more adventures in the future.
