Melodores News/ Recent performances
So I know we promised that the CD would be released on Tuesday, but a couple of copyright hangups have forced us to push the date back until we have cleared everything up. Not to worry – the Melodores debut album “Rain Check” WILL be coming out soon though!!
In order to promote our name and entertain the local community, a lot of Greek and service organization have been asking us to perform in the evenings during the week. Its great not only for Melodores exposure, but also to be a part of positively influencing people’s days in terms of entertainment and try our best of give back to the less fortunate.
Recently we have performed for the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity on campus for their “Ladies Appreciation Night,” Delta Gamma‘s benefit for “Service for Sight” (an initiative for those with impaired sight) and tonight we performed at Delta Kappa Epsilon‘s fundraiser for “Blessings in a Backpack.”
These events have been great practice for our group, great fun to perform but also great opportunity to meet all of the organizations on campus, both Greek and non-Greek. Performing with a variety of artistic acts for benefits gives me a heartwarming feeling, that I can be doing what I love and in turn be helping lesser privileged people all around the world.
As service is a very large portion of Vanderbilt’s outward focus, I am confident we will be able to continue performing for causes and meeting /bonding with people from all around campus.
