Finals: Done
Finishing the last final of my undergraduate career was a very sweet moment. What helped make it sweeter was the fact that I was celebrating this deed with 10 other girls soon thereafter! How did we celebrate? By being beach bums, of course.
This has been, by far, the most challenging year of school–and I’m pretty sure that’s been the case for at least 90% of the seniors. Not only are we keeping up with Vandy life but we are also trying to prepare for the real world that awaits us after we walk across the stage at commencement! Hear you me: that’s a lot to balance.
In true senior tradition, we decided to escape reality for a few days and, instead, enjoy waking up to the sound of waves crashing (and not an alarm), cooking meals, reading books FOR LEISURE, staying up late watching movies and not feeling guilty about it, and playing Frisbee and volleyball on the beach! Our few days in Florida zoomed by, as expected, but it was the perfect way to round off the end of our undergraduate experience.
I went with probably the best group of people imaginable–people I met from several different avenues too! Of course the girls in my suite were there (buddies since freshman year thanks to living in the same house on the Commons!) but there were also people I met through Masala SACE, Cru, and my hall from sophomore year! We were able to meet up with other seniors as well, but the aim of the game was relaxation. I am very thankful for the time my friends and I had with each other before packing up, graduation, and moving out madness ensued!
