Another Update on Me
2018 has definitely started off as a very busy but exciting year! This is my first full semester as a Medicine, Health, and Society (MHS) major, which basically means that I had priority in choosing MHS classes this semester. Currently, my concentration for my major is in Global Health, and I can’t wait to see where this major takes me in the future. I also just added a minor in Human and Organizational Development (HOD). Here are the classes that I’m taking this semester:
African American Arts
American Popular Music
Modern Medicine
Organic Chemistry
Small Group Behavior
So far, my favorite class is Modern Medicine. In this class, we are learning about the history of medicine and healthcare from the late 1700s to the present. I have been intrigued every day in class while learning about the incredible progress medicine has made in the past 300 years. This class counts as my disciplinary requirement and an elective for my MHS major.
On another note, midterm season is finally over, and I’m home for Spring Break which is fantastic! I am truly enjoying watching Netflix and sleeping in every day. However, I have to work on some online training modules for my summer job during the break, but I will write another blog soon all about this exciting opportunity!
I am eager to see how the rest of this semester goes, and I promise to keep you guys updated! If you have any questions about the classes I am taking this semester or about my major/minor, feel free to email me at ashli.alexander@vanderbilt.edu. I’d love to hear from you!
