Titans Game. Fo’ Free

I have literally been waiting 3.5 years to say this: I GOT TO GO TO A TITANS GAME FOR FREE!

Commodore Cruises are hosted by the Office of Housing and Residential Education. Students get emails about fun events in Nashville that Vanderbilt has purchased tickets for, and students can choose to put their name into a lottery system to be drawn as a winner! These events vary from sporting events to concerts to award shows! Students are allowed to bring one other student as well. I had only won once before, and that was during the second semester of my first year here. I went to a Predators game for the first time (my first NHL game, actually) and took Caitlyn as my +1!

First Predators game with Caitlyn!

I had submitted my name for nearly every single Titans game opportunity since then and never received any good news. All of that changed this semester. This time I took my friend Alice, and we watched the Titans play the Jacksonville Jaguars. While the end results were disappointing, I definitely enjoyed my first live NFL experience.

Oh happy day. Tickets in hand to go watch our first Titans/NFL game!

These events are great because they are Vanderbilt’s way of helping students embrace the diverse experiences of the city we get to call home for 4 years–opportunities we wouldn’t have anywhere else. Students get transportation to and from the event, FREE food, and it’s a chance to experience amazing Nashville events on Vanderbilt’s tab. Go ‘Dores.
