Alpha Chi Sisterhood Retreat
Last weekend I went to Alpha Chi’s annual sisterhood retreat- yay for sisterhood bonding! The retreat was held at a YMCA camp on the outskirts of Nashville.
We arrived Friday night to our cabins, which were so nice for a camp! We split up to different cabins, walked around in a daze remembering our own camp days, dropped our stuff off, and then headed back to the cars. We drove to one of the larger buildings on the property that could fit our whole sorority. Along the way, we laughed at the YMCA’s road signs like the speed limit of 22. We spent the night writing notes to our sisters and talking about what has shaped us. Then, we headed back to the cabins excited for bed.
The next morning we got up and went to breakfast, which the staff of the YMCA graciously cooked for us. The building they served food in was super cute and well decorated. After breakfast, we had some meetings about general chapter things. But then we had the chance to go swimming in the lake! This YMCA camp bordered Percy Priest Lake and luckily, it was a beautiful day after a week of extreme heat. I was too tired to go swimming so instead I soaked up the sun (tanning isn’t really a thing for me since I immediately burn).
While the retreat only lasted one night, it was fun to leave Vandy’s campus and spend time with my sisters. I got to hang out with old friends and made a couple new ones with sisters I didn’t know as well before.
