Spring Break Recap!

Three weeks later = fashionably late. Thought I forgot, didn’t ya? Alas, I did not. Well, I kind of almost did, but that is ONLY because it feels like winter again. Flurries have been hitting me in the face for the past two days! But that’s besides the point.

My spring break was broken up into two parts. Part one consisted of a trip to Charleston, South Carolina with about 30 other students! We went with Cru, which is a internationally recognized ministry for college students. Our 5 days in Charleston served as time set aside for relaxation, getting to know each other away from assignments and deadlines and other academic-related things, serving the community, and growing in our faith together through bible studies and small group discussions. While it was slightly chilly there, we stayed in beautiful beach houses with the horizon as our backdrop. It was an incredible week.

Some of the highlights from the trip include big ol’ family dinners, exploring Historic Charleston, late night Cook Out runs, playing volleyball on the beach, and serving with Water Missions International! We broke up into different groups and served as needed, whether it was installing solar panels, painting, stuffing packages, or landscaping. I helped with landscaping! My crew was in charge of laying down the foundations to a flower bed. T’was hard work, let me assure you.

For part two, I spent the last few days of break up in Long Island to help throw my sister-in-law, Jenni, a surprise baby shower. It served as a mini family reunion because my sister came down from Boston, my parents flew up, and I have 5 sets of cousins in the region that were able to come. Jenni was definitely surprised and the party was a huge hit!

Break was eventful and oh so memorable. I gained new friendships, strengthened older ones, and learned it was never too late for Cook Out.

Check out the gallery because the pictures really do speak for themselves :)
