Slowing down a bit
So after a truly memorable weekend with watching our ladies’ basketball team beat the Lady Vols, hosting “ESPN College Gameday“, and putting up an unbelievable fight against UK in the men’s basketball game Saturday night–all on little to no sleep–a lazy Sunday was much needed.
I know other bloggers have touched on the wonderful basketball weekend, but let me just quickly say that the utter lack of sleep and standing in line outside for 6 hours in the 30 degree weather was completely worth it. I am one proud Commodore :) GO ‘DORES!!
Now, on to my lazy Sunday. While I had every intention of knocking out many subjects of homework and getting ahead in classes, it was not a disappointment to spend some time in the lovely bookstore and just relax with some light reading for a class with my friends.
I love that the bookstore has lots of comfortable study space in its calm environment, is open for a pretty large chunk of each day, has a Starbucks that is on the Commodore Card, and is only a short walking distance away! It’s definitely one of my favorite places to go to when I have a more lax homework to-do list.
It is also conveniently located next to restaurants that are on the card, so quick study breaks are always delicious, and it is a literal life-saver when needing to buy a blanket to block the windy, 30 degree day for a few hours. That’s right. While in the aforementioned 6 hour, 30 degree weather line to enter the VU v. UK game, my friend Alice and I literally ran to the (thankfully) close bookstore to buy a blanket so we could bundle up a little bit more.
All in all, it was a great, Commodore-filled, wintery weekend. While it was a slight letdown to have Monday come so soon, there’s already an eventful week ahead! That’s Vanderbilt for ya :)
