The Stegemans Reunite! Things to See and Do in Nashville

My family came to visit last weekend!! It was a bit of an impromptu visit, but I haven’t seen my family since Spring Break, so I was missing them dearly. AND, they haven’t been back to Nashville since move-in day, so this was a momentous occasion indeed! Over the months I have compiled a basic list of places to go and things to do in Music City, so I was super excited to show off my beautiful home to my parents. Here are a few places we went during their short stay:

Union Station Hotel: One of the perks of having your parents come to town is getting to stay in the hotel with them! As great as the down comforter and pillows felt later that night as I experienced the best sleep of my life, the hotel itself was absolutely INCREDIBLE. Located right off of Broadway, the Union Station Hotel is a renovated train station located a few minutes from Downtown and The Gulch. Boasting the modern comforts of a hotel, there was an antique charm about the place as old train schedules, advertisements, and a breathtaking stained glass ceiling created a nostalgic atmosphere.

Fish&Co.: We had a hard time choosing between dinner locations, but we finally settled on Fish& Co., a lovely little seafood restaurant located off of 12th. My family’s hankering for oysters on the half shell and other seafood delicacies was fully satiated as we enjoyed a fantastic meal. Other family-friendly places to have a memorable meal include Wildhorse Saloon (you can go line dancing too!), Sambuca, and the iconic Loveless Café.

Green Hills Mall: Yeah, yeah, yeah. It’s a mall. But for someone like me who hasn’t been shopping in three months, it was a little piece of heaven. Green Hills is a short drive from Vanderbilt and has tons stores, restaurants and plenty to do! It is one of the biggest malls in the Nashville area and is always bustling. It might sound a little lame, but it was refreshing to explore a different part of the city with my family (and makes some purchases in the process!)
