There’s one week left!
As much as I’m enjoying winter break here in sunny Florida (where winter means it has gotten under 80 degrees), I’m already thinking ahead. In fact, there’s only one week until a friend and I begin our drive back to Nashville—yes, we drove here.
Chelsea, a senior at Vanderbilt and I decided that since plane flights were rather expensive and we had a long Christmas break, we would road trip from Nashville to Florida (she lives north of me in Port Charlotte). The total trip is about 13 hours to her house, and then another hour and a half to mine—needless to say, we’ve definitely become even better friends!
Thankfully we broke the drive into two days—stopping in Atlanta to visit our mutual friend Brittany (a Vanderbilt alum!). It’s pretty awesome to think that 3 semesters ago, I didn’t know Chelsea or Brittany—or anyone I’ve met in my time at Vanderbilt.
As one semester ends and a new one is just around the corner, I tend to get a little nostalgic and think on all the awesome friends I’ve made at Vanderbilt and the exciting things I’ve gotten to do. If you had told me a friend and I would be road tripping to Florida for 13 hours a year and a half ago, I might have thought you were crazy—but we had a ton of fun, and I’m looking forward to our trip back!
