Now It’s November!
November is here, and I can’t believe it. The weather is slowly but surely getting chillier, and the leaves are starting to fall from the trees, and class registration for next semester is here!
Class registration is a nerve-wracking but exciting time in the life of every Vanderbilt student. The system we use is called YES, and it opens up a week or two before registration, so we have a chance to peruse the class options and get an idea of what we’d like to take.
Then we find out our registration windows! Seniors always get to register first, then juniors and so on–there are two registration days for each grade. This year, I have the first day of registration, so I’m hoping to get in to most of my first choice classes. All classes have a specified number of seats, and then a waitlist.
Thankfully, YES is not the be all end all for getting into a class–sometimes if you meet with a teacher and really express interest for the class, you can still get in even if you aren’t enrolled on YES. This isn’t always the case, but I’ve seen it work out in the past.
My official enrollment date is November 7th, so I’ll be sitting at my computer, ready to refresh the page and hit enroll right at 8am! I’m already excited for my classes next semester, so hopefully I’ll get in to all of them!
