Midnight Praises in Benton Chapel!

I have been a member of OCF for a year and I have completely enjoyed it. OCF consists of three parts: learning, praising, and service! There is learning through bible studies, praising through midnight praises (tasbeha), which is a collection of beautiful sung praises, and service to the community including hospital visitations and other services. Along with the activities, OCF provides a great sense of fellowship and provides a community that promotes faith, love, praise, and service. On Thanksgiving, we went to Hope Lodge and cooked Thanksgiving dinner, and it was an incredible experience to cook Thanksgiving for patients who were undergoing cancer treatment.

One of our biggest events was when Bishop Anba Youssef came to speak at Vanderbilt in a talk called “What is Coptic Orthodoxy?” So many members of the Nashville community came, as well as people from all different Orthodox denominations.
