CC: Midtown Church!
Midtown Fellowship is one of many churches that people at Vanderbilt attend! Although I attend mass at the Cathedral and Benton Chapel, I know that it’s a really beautiful place. For more information on Midtown Fellowship, check out this link!
Midtown is a member of the Presbyterian Church in America and has four congregations in
different locations throughout Nashville. I attend Midtown’s downtown campus, which is
conveniently located about ten minutes from Vanderbilt. Growing up, I attended a traditional
United Methodist church with my family, so I was curious to see what else was out there. With
its string lights, fresh coffee and folding chairs, Midtown was completely opposite from the only
church experience I had known, yet it was exactly what I needed at the time (and still need!). The
sense of community and connection there is palpable, and each week I find myself understanding
more of just how broken I am and just how loved I am despite that very brokenness.

For most of my first year at Vandy, I attended Midtown Fellowship in Rocketown. I absolutely love Midtown! Randy, the pastor, is one of the most wonderful and kindest, most personable people I have ever met. He really cares about the people in His Church and following the Lord’s leading, and it was such a joy to bring my mom to Church with me whenever she visited. It has helped me to grow in my walk with Christ so much! The structure includes worship, biblically based teaching, and communion. The worship is beautiful, and much of it is written by the worship leaders, and many students from Vandy attend here and other locations of this Church, too! It is also wonderful to get involved with the kids ministry here and the men and women’s ministries! I love this Church!
