A Commodore Cruise
This weekend I went to my first ever Predators game. Vanderbilt students often support Nashville’s own professional hockey team but I hadn’t had the chance to make a game. The Predator’s often have “College Nights,” a promotional night where college students can get $10 dollar tickets.
I, however, owe my Predators vs. Detroit Red Wings experience (sold out area, overtime, and 10 rounds of penalty shots – incredible) to a Commodore Cruise.
Twice a month there are opportunities to explore Nashville with other Vanderbilt students. As students we receive emails and can reply to enter a lottery. Each Commodore Cruise (actually on a Tour Bus) includes a fee dinner, a free t-shirt, and the event. – also for free! Examples of past Cruises are trips to see Wicked at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center or Al Jarreau at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. Each Commodore Cruise winner gets to invite a guest. In the case of the Predators Game, I was not a winner but a very lucky guest (thanks, Scott!). What a game to attend, and I will definitely be on the lookout for more information about the Commodore Cruises next year.
