Blair Audition Day!
I just came back from my Friday class at Blair, and the school is crowded with musicians today. Today is the first day for auditions for the Blair class of 2018. I can already tell that it is going to be a great class. There were people playing music everywhere, in the hallways, stairwell and practice rooms.
My experience with Blair has been kind of weird since I am a double major in music, so my home school isn’t Blair. Honestly, just having the opportunity to study music even if you’r not in Blair makes Vanderbilt great. More so, many of my Blair friends are doing double majors in other schools on campus. Combine that with great facilities and world-class professors, and you’ve got a great career in music ahead.
As a second major, I also had to audition, so I know a thing or two about the feelings of fear and excitement. All I can say to perspective students is to be themselves and give it all up on stage. I am very excited to meet everyone next year to play music together.
