Taylor Swift Comes to Nashville
I had been waiting for last night to happen for over 5 months. Why?! Because I had pit tickets to Taylor Swift’s last concert for her US Red tour! It was an incredible night, filled with plenty of red, glitter, and excitement.
As a Tswift superfan, I did plenty of research on the best places to stand in the pit since it’s general admission. The way the stage was set up, we were basically boxed in and there were two sides with a catwalk up the middle. I went with my friend Courtney who is on the ultimate frisbee team too. We arrived around 4:15 downtown, got our tickets, and waited in line. There were already a decent number of people there, all decked out in red clothing. I kept thinking I saw Taylor because so many people were dressed exactly like her. Around 5:30, they let us into the arena, where we ran (of course) to the pit and tried to get a good spot. I was elated to be standing one person away from the barricade by the middle catwalk- we were so close! Then, we had to wait for the concert to actually start, but I was so excited it took no time at all.
Casey James opened the concert. Although I had never heard of him before, I still really enjoyed his music. After that, Ed Sheeran came on and he was INCREDIBLE. Before the concert, I knew a couple of his hits, but listening to him play just turned me into a huge fan. He was the only one on stage because he used a device that repeated noises he made on his guitar. He literally did all the rhythms on his guitar and he was such an amazing singer.
Then, it was time for Taylor! I felt terrible for her because she was obviously pretty sick and kept coughing, but I guess since it was the end of the tour she pressed on. Every song had a different scene and dresses that I wanted in my closet. Because we were so close, it was a lot more fun to interact with the dancers and the band, and to see their facial expressions. All of her performers were sensational. I had so much fun singing and dancing to all the songs and watching the show unfold. She also had Hunter Hayes as a surprise guest and I touched his hand! I literally couldn’t believe how close I was, and it was truly an unforgettable night!
