Remaining Calm.
If you haven’t figured it out yet, it’s finals week here at Vandy, and remaining calm is a test of its own! Thankfully the worst is over–I just have one final left (and it’s the only actual sit-down final that I have…so of course it’s on the last day!) in Formal Logic. In the meantime, I’ve been doing lots of fun things as study breaks and to cope with the stresses.
Let’s take yesterday as a prime example of fun study breaks! I woke up much earlier than normal to crank out a take-home final that was due that day. Once that was finished, I had some errands to run around campus and I returned my rented books. The rest of my day was not quite as productive–after the hard-core take-home final writing of the morning, I was ready for a mental break–and everyone knows the best breaks involve food!
For dinner, I journeyed along with fellow blogger Caitlyn and our friends Joe and Jeremy to Chik-Fil-A! It’s always nice to get off campus for dinner, and they have a deal for college students where you get a free chicken sandwich if you buy a large drink and large fries between 5 and 9pm. Cheap and delicious!
After that, Caitlyn and I decided to make these peanut butter and jelly cups we had seen the recipe for online. There’s something about creating delicious desserts that really takes one’s mind off of finals-time stresses. They turned out absolutely delicious, so if you are feeling stressed and need something to get your mind off it, I highly recommend them.
Something I love about finals week is all the random fun things that end up happening because everyone needs a good study break now and then. Whether it’s an impromptu gathering or some delicious food, there’s always some sort of fun experience just waiting to be had.
