Losing voice, gaining sleep

Posted by on Sunday, December 10, 2017 in Academics, College Life, Exams, Finals, Health, Winter Break.

Guys, I got sick right before finals and lemme tell y’all, it’s not fun. 10/10 would not recommend…

It all started with losing my voice after an impromptu jam sesh with my suite mates and neighbors. My voice progressively got worse, and I caught a cold on top of it. My only method of communication for a few days was texting and typing something so someone could read my phone screen. Shout out to my friends, teachers, and dining staff for being so patient with me this week.

Thankfully, I made it through the worst part of being sick before having to really buckle down to study. Although it would have been nicer to have been able to start working on papers sooner, but oh well.

I was so weak that for a week – a whole WEEK – I did not have the energy to go to the rec. Let alone for working out, I barely had enough energy to do school stuff. On Thursday, the last day of official class for the semester, I dragged myself to organic chem lecture, which only lasted half an hour because our professor moved through the material pretty quickly, and I was supposed to give a presentation in French, but my TA said it was totally fine for me to skip. So I pretty much slept the whole day, and the whole night after that. My sleep schedule is completely wrecked now, but I feel soooooo much better.

Secret cure to feeling sick? SLEEP until you can’t anymore

Finally yesterday and today I felt strong enough to do a light workout at the rec and cranked out some good hours of studying. This post now is me taking a mental break from working on my French paper due in a couple of days.

Now, back to the grind…
