A Vanderbilt Thanksgiving
First of all, I want to start by apologizing for not blogging much recently. As the semester draws to a close, the past few weeks have been super hectic with tests, deadlines, presentations and projects. However, never fear – I am back. And to make it up to you, I present you with a wonderfully awful Thanksgiving-themed joke:
Why did the cranberries turn red?
Because they saw the turkey dressing!
That totally makes up for my absence, right? Good.
Anyway, swiftly moving on to the main topic of this blog… it’s Thanksgiving break, guys! Being from England, this is my first Thanksgiving ever and I’m super excited. So how am I spending it? Well, I’m actually going to be staying right here in Nashville, Tennessee. My friends were wonderful and all invited me to spend Thanksgiving with them (including a friend from California, which, given the ridiculously cold weather Nashville’s been having recently, sounded particularly appealing) but instead I’ll be staying on campus as my sister is coming over from Switzerland to visit me! I haven’t seen her in waaay too long and I can’t wait!
I’m really looking forward to this week; I’ve got so much planned, including wandering around Nashville like a complete tourist with my sister, doing some Christmas shopping, visiting local friends, watching the final Formula 1 Grand Prix of the season and going to the football home finale against Tennessee. Oh, and hopefully catching up on sleep too – but really, who has time for that?
I promise to keep you guys updated with what I get up to this week and my highlights as they happen so stay tuned and follow me as I experience my first Thanksgiving at Vanderbilt. Cheers!
