Family Vacation to Arizona!

After arriving home from AWB, I had about two days to settle in Alabama before I was en route to my next destination: Arizona. Coming from a week in the arctic, I was ecstatic to spend some time in a state where fifty degrees is considered “cold”.

Anchor Down from Arizona!

Ever since I was a kid, we have gone to Arizona once a year to spend time with my dad’s side of the family. It has been a family tradition to spend Christmas/ New Year’s Eve with them. Going to college made this tradition a little difficult; my brother and I wanted to spend more time at home since we were not home during the year. However, we have been able to keep the tradition alive.

The best part about traveling over winter break in college is that you don’t have any schoolwork to do. When I was in high school, I remember having a few assignments I had to finish over the break. In college, all of your classes are finished, and your next set of classes doesn’t start until January. Therefore, I didn’t have the pressure of school looming over my head as I spent time with family. Nevertheless, I am taking the time to prepare for next semester and the summer. But I’m mostly relaxing!

So what did I do in Arizona? I spent most of my time with my family. I got to embrace my inner child by playing with my younger cousins, and then sit around and talk to my grandparents, uncles, and aunts. In addition, I spent some time running in the perfect weather and even went on a mountain hike one morning. Overall, traveling to Arizona was just the break I needed before preparing to head back for the spring semester!
