Home at Last
It was a long semester and I am finally home. I am leaving to Guatemala on May 11th, so for the next two weeks, I will be pretty busy. My time at home is full of appointments, errands, and well as lots of quality time with family and friends.
On my first day home, I had to go to the doctor. I realized that I had never been to the ‘grown up’ doctor. It was about time that I transferred my files from the pediatrician. I also needed my tetanus booster and a few other things before my trip. I began working on my personal statement for medical school. Medical school applications are way too similar to undergraduate applications. It feels like just yesterday, I was filling out the Common App. Seriously, time flies.
One of my favorite things about Vanderbilt is our long summers. I will have almost four full months of vacation, and I plan on enjoying every minute of it. I love spending time with my family and I get really upset when I miss out on family events. Because of my long summer, I was home for my grandmother’s birthday celebration. My whole family went to lunch at the famous Joe’s Stone Crabs in Miami Beach. Come visit me and we can go too!
Also this summer, I have been reading on my new Kindle. I am ashamed to say that I caved in and bought an eReader. I am going to be traveling a lot this summer, and I would not have room for my clothes if I had to pack my books. But, I am always looking for more good reads, so if you have any, please send them my way!
My summer is off to a fantastic start. My only complaint is that it has rained every day, so I have yet to make it to the beach. Finals at Vanderbilt are officially done, so I guess that I am officially a Senior and the class of 2017 is officially the freshman class! Congrats!
