Spring Break! Woohoo!
The title of this post is an homage to my favorite show of all time–Friends. Please see this link if you don’t know what I’m talking about. (You probably didn’t. And I’m not sure how much that clip will actually help.) For spring break this year (I know this post is late…oops), I spent some time relaxing in Nashville and also went to visit my little, Megan, at home in Dallas!
This semester has sped by wayyy too fast, in my humble opinion. Real life is approaching at top speed, as Victoria addressed recently, and I am entirely unprepared. (But more on that in another post.) The final weeks before spring break approached with alarming speed, and I found myself without plans. I was considering three sad options: 1) mope around my Morgan apartment, alone and lazy, for nine solid days; 2) spend an absurd amount of money for a flight back home to California, where I would also be lazy and useless; and 3) okay, so I didn’t really have a third option, but three sounds better than two. While being sad about my lack of awesome spring break plans, my little took pity on me and invited me to go home with her to Dallas to be lazy together!
We spent a solid week lounging, watching the entire season of Nashville, watching endless episodes of Friends, shopping, and “baking.” (Baking is in quotes because we made some seriously nasty gluten-free fudge one night and you can’t really call it baking.) We also ate. A lot. I was a serious fan of “fried food night” at Megan’s–so much goodness.
So while my spring break was not nearly as beachy as others, it was still so much fun and I loved getting to spend time with my little and getting to know her family! Coming back to Nashville and real life was a rough transition, but the end of the semester is fast approaching and I had to jump back into the swing of things right away.
