NashTrash Murder Mystery Tour
I know that I always talk about CityVU because it is one of my favorite student groups here on campus. Last night, CityVU rented out the NashTrash bus for a private Murder Mystery dinner tour. Due to last minutes cancellations, my room mate and I got to go!
NashTrash is a huge tourist attraction in the area. It started as a big pink bus run by two middle-aged women. The show is known for its off-color humor and those crazy ladies. For Vanderbilt students, CityVU thought that the dinner tour would be better because of scheduling.
The big pink bus arrived outside of Branscomb at 6:30 and we loaded it promptly. Like I said, the tour was a show, and we were the actors. I was chosen to play Rose (the lawyer) and my room mate was Latisha (an up-and-coming country star). We acted and laughed the entire bus ride to Monell’s at the Manor, where we ate delicious comfort food family style with our new friends. The spread was extravagant and delicious. There was fried chicken, meat loaf, corn pudding, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and more. My favorite thing were the candied sweet potatoes. The whole meal was so delicious and fun. Monell’s is known for their family style seating. They have multiple large tables and they fill you in as you enter. This was the perfect opportunity to make new friends. I highly recommend Monell’s if you are looking for some good Southern food and a unique environment.
After dinner, we loaded the bus and returned to Vandy. We pieced the clues together and solved the murder mystery. I guess you’ll have to take the tour yourself to find out more!
