Just another fall weekend
This weekend, I stuck around campus and just enjoyed the beautiful weather and this great campus. I finally feel like I am settled in and out of summer-mode.
On Friday night, I went to Hillel for Shabbat dinner. Most of my close friends here are not Jewish, so when they all decided to go to the Tennessee fair, I was hesitant to skip out on that and walk to Hillel by myself. But, I knew that I was missing home a bit and there is nothing better than a home-cooked traditional meal. Of course, as soon as I walked up to Hillel, a handful of my friends were just arriving as well! Dinner was delicious and I was just so thrilled to leave my comfort zone socially and then feel so comfortable so quickly.
On Saturday, I attended the Vanderbilt football game against Presbyterian College. In case you missed it, we won by a score of 58-0. It was so much fun to watch- not too mention the bright sunshine and cool breeze that was present all throughout the game. It’s always nice to watch your team win. I just hope that this is the morale boost that the Commodores need before they take on Georgia next week.
Overall, I would say that my weekend was pretty routine. But that would neglect my NBA player sighting. On my way to the football game, I ran into Jeffrey Taylor, who graduated last year and now plays for the Charlotte Bobcats. I politely asked Mr. Taylor for a picture and he was so great. I suppose it’s because this time last year, we were peers. It definitely made my on-campus weekend complete!
