All these things that I’ve done…

Posted by on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 in Dining, Food, General Information, Nashville, Student Life.

I am back in the swing of things, dear readers, and it is crazy! Though today marks the middle of the 3rd full week of school, I feel like I’ve been here for way longer. I’m slowly but surely getting into a routine, and fondly remembering all the wonderful things about Vanderbilt (and the not so wonderful thing that is homework).

In these last several weeks, I’ve had quite a few adventures and so in typical Victoria style, I present a list of fun things I’ve done in my first week and a half at Vanderbilt, complete with Instagram-ed photos.

1. Visited the Vanderbilt Farmer’s Market. Every Thursday from 3-6:00pm, the Vanderbilt Farmer’s market happens in the medical center plaza right here on campus. It’s a short walk from my dorm, so I finally got around to going with my friend Mary Kate and fellow blogger Samantha. They purchased some chocolate milk, and as you can see from the picture, were very excited about it.

They love milk. Particularly of the chocolate variety.

2. Ate at The Dog of Nashville. The Dog of Nashville is a hot dog restaurant in Hillsboro Village that I had heard a few people talk about but had never gone to. Turns out it’s incredibly delicious. I went with Carly and fellow blogger Caitlyn, and it was a unanimous hit. They currently have homemade salt and vinegar chips as thier special, and if you go you need to get them. They’re amazing.

Caitlyn and Carly were excited, and rightfully so.

3. Went to Hot & Cold. Two main things sold here: ice cream and coffee. If that doesn’t explain my love for it, I don’t know what would. They also have tea and Las Paletas popsicles and everything I’ve had there has been delicious.

4. Went to the first Vanderbilt football game of the year. Though I am not a huge football fan, I was so glad I went to the first game. The stadium was packed and it was the first time I’ve seen a student section that filled and cheering that loudly. James Franklin is definitely doing an awesome job.

Go 'dores!

5. Eat free ice cream. And see lots of food trucks. These have both been covered by other bloggers, but if you haven’t noticed by now, I love food. Particularly when it’s free!

How precious is that sign? And the flavor names?

Food, fun, and fellow bloggers? Sounds like this school year’s off to a fantastic start.
